FAQ

Spray tan FAQ….

  • Most spray tans last roughly 7 to 10 days, though certain factors can extend or shorten that period.

  • Exfoliate the skin 1 to 2 times before your session. Any shaving or waxing must occur at least 24 hours prior to the appointment.

  • Avoid using lotions, oil-based exfoliating products, gels, or waxing/shaving creams on the day of the appointment. Make sure you’re not wearing any existing self-tanner or residue from a former spray tan on the skin. Do not have moisturizer, makeup, cream, sunscreen, perfume, or deodorant on your skin when you come in for your appointment. A clean canvas is key!

  • Wear loose clothing in dark colors. Your bra should also be the loose variety (no sports bras), and you may even want to leave it off after your treatment.

  • This depends on what tanning solution you choose to get. Follow the instructions sent to you after your appointment.

  • Avoid scented lotions, perfumes, astringents, and cleaning solutions with acid or peroxide. Anything harsh or chemical will wear away your tan more quickly. I always recommend the Sunna tan moisturizers and tan extenders!

  • Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Natural, fragrance-free lotions are best. This will ensure that your skin remains healthy and hydrated, and that your spray tan lasts longer. Also, stay hydrated by drinking lots of water! I always suggest using Sunna’s moisturizer and tan extenders!

  • While your spray tan is new, you'll want to avoid chlorinated water, as this can make the color fade faster. In addition, cut the amount of shaving down to a minimum, as this works as an exfoliant and will also make your tan fade. Once your tan has started fading naturally, you can resume most of your normal skincare regimen.

HAIR EXTENSION FAQ….

  • The benefits for hand tied extensions are that they’re easier to blend and it’s a more natural look than most extensions. They’re super comfortable and the least damaging way to wear permanent extensions. It’s also easier for styling – i.e. a pony (high or low), braids etc. With hand tied, you’re not worried about if your tape ins or tracks are showing when the wind blows or if you put up your hair.

  • In my experience, all extensions can be damaging IF they are not properly cared for. Handtied extensions are the only method I offer because they are by far the most universal and the least damaging. In all of my years, I have had very few rare cases that have caused minimal damage. Nothing that couldn’t be figured out!

  • The hair itself lasts anywhere from 9 months to a year, depending on how well it’s taken care of. Installation lasts 6 to 8 weeks depending on the person / hair growth. At that point, you’ll need another visit to move them up.

  • Hair color options are endless! Some are customized depending on the client.

  • It’s easier to blend with hair at least shoulder length, especially if they’re wanting to go really long. But with that being said, you can honestly do them at any length! It just depends on how much you’re wanted to add.

  • Wash your hair 1 to 2 times a week with extension friendly shampoo and conditioner. Don’t wash your hair everyday, as it will cause your extensions to dry out. Before washing, it’s best to thoroughly brush your hair to remove any tangles. Gently wash as normal and be sure to avoid rubbing the ends of your hair together. With conditioner, only apply conditioner from the mid-section down. Avoid conditioner at the scalp and where the extensions are tied in. Personally, I use a wet brush or a wide tooth comb to gently brush through (while conditioner is in) before rinsing it out. Basically, avoid tangles at all costs!

  • Squeeze your hair and blot with a towel – DON’T rub your hair! You should hydrate your hair, too, with a leave in conditioner or oil. Follow with brushing through with a wet brush / wide tooth comb. Gently blow-dry. Make sure it is 90% dry before using a round brush and never go to bed with it wet!

  • Shampoo, conditioner and other hair products need to be extension friendly – meaning they should be paraben and sulfate free. You should also use an extension safe oil or hair serum on the mid-section to the ends for moisture! I advise against products that are oil based (especially at the root) as it could affect the bond!

  • It’s recommended to braid your hair or put in a low bun for sleep. It’s also best to sleep on a silk pillowcase (this is great for your face AND hair, whether you have extensions or not)! Cotton pillowcases cause frizziness and split ends over time. Silk pillowcases are much more gentle on the face (less wrinkles + smoother and clearer skin) and hair (smoother hair and maintains natural oils of the hair).

  • It’s important to keep your hand tied extensions hydrated! Avoid the root / bond section of your hair, but use leave-in conditioner, hair oil, heat protectant, etc. Just remember to avoid parabens and sulfates. As far as tools go, you can straighten and curl your hair like normal! Obviously, the less hot tools you use, the better, as it drys out your hair. I’ve actually had to style my hair WAY less with extensions because it holds the style SO well. My natural hair sucks and loses a curl like, instantly. With extensions, I curl my hair after I wash and dry it, and then I just touch up the curls as needed until I wash my hair again. It’s actually much less effort!

  • Yes – BUT there are minerals found in bodies of water that can sometimes react poorly with your extensions and can cause discoloration or dry them out. To avoid this, I suggest you do the following:

Wet your hair before getting into the pool / ocean / lake, etc. After wetting, apply a leave in conditioner or hair mask.

Comb your conditioner or mask through your hair, then braid it or put it in a tight bun or pony.

Rinse your hair immediately after swimming.

Also- KEEP SUNSCREEN OFF YOUR EXTENSIONS. Especially blondes. It can cause a chemical reaction and turn your hair pink/orange and you cannot get it out!

  • This is something that depends on how much color the client needs to achieve the desired look. It can take anywhere from 1-4 hours.

  • I do not require an in-person consult, but it is encouraged! We can always start with pictures of your hair and what you goal is. If we both feel confident in the desired look, we do not need to meet in person before the first appointment!

  • Cost can be anywhere from $1000-$1500. This all depends on how many rows need to be installed to create the look you’re going for and how much of a color transformation is needed. First install is priced as a package. This includes all the hair, custom color for you and the extensions, install, cut, style and a take home bag of extension safe products to get you started!

Move ups are priced ala carte. $125 per row and color is a separate charge.
